- `desktop-case.webp` from [File:ATX computer case - left - 2018-05-18.jpg](https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:ATX_computer_case_-_left_-_2018-05-18.jpg)
  - Description: It is the computer case in ATX format of a 2018 computer with all of its components, its vocation is the development of software within silence of operation. In order to have an optimal air circulation while having a minimum noise, the two fans (one of 14cm in front and one of 12cm at the back), delivered with the case, a be quiet! BG021, were removed, only remains the 14cm fan of the CPU cooler, a Thermalright The Grand Macho RT. This cooler is positioned at the top left in the case, over the processor, an AMD Ryzen 7 1700 with 8 physical cores at 3 GHz here overclocked at 3.2 GHz. It is a cubic block of nearly a kilo with multiple fins to dissipate heat, with a speed of rotation between 300 rpm and 1300 rpm dissipation capacity is 95W. It is attached to the motherboard via a bracket on either side with 4 screws, its size makes unusable a PCI Express x1 port, not visible here. To the right of the fan are 4 DDR4, Corsair CMK16GX4M2A2666C16 Vengeance LPX, 2666 MT/s, non low profile and 8 GB each. They are of the same reference, with identical capacities and frequencies and of the same brand. This homogeneity allows dual channel operation with double memory addressing. At the top right of the case we can distinguish the Blu-ray reader-writer, it occupies the top location of 5.25 inches, the one underneath remaining free. Under the cooler is placed the graphics card, an MSI GeForce GT 1030 2GH LP OC with 2 GB of DDR5 at 3 GHz, its GPU frequency dynamically varies between 1265 MHz and 1518 MHz. It has passive cooling and provides 2 UHD outputs at 60Hz, one in HDMI and the other in DisplayPort. On the right we have the AMD X370 chipset under a heat sink. The case came with 3 2.5-inch bays, to the right of the chipset, which were removed as unused and to allow better air circulation. In the bottom slot we find the Gigabyte GC-WB867D-I Wi-Fi/Bluetooth card, it requires a USB connection where a cable connecting it to a USB 2.0 slot on the motherboard, so as not to lose USB port she integrates one. To the right of this card is a Samsung 960 PRO 512 GB SSD in M.2 format, its maximum read speed is 3.5GB/s and 2.1GB/s write. At the bottom left of the box is the 400W power supply Platinum 400FL Fanless Power Supply. All components are connected to the motherboard, an Asus ROGSTRIX X370-F GAMING, in the bottom of the case to which it is screwed. Regarding its connections, at the top left is the Power supply 8 pins EATX 12 V, above the RAM strips there is power processor fan, to the right of the bars we have the main power of the motherboard with 24 pins, below to the right of the chipset we have the connection SATA 6 Gbits to the Blu-ray reader-burner. At the bottom of the motherboard on the left we have the AAFP connection, Azalia Audio Front Panel, to allow sound input / output on the case, further right the USB 2.0 connection to the Wi-Fi/Blutooth card, again on the right hand side. USB 3.0 connection to the USB ports on the front, while on the bottom right we have the switches for the start-up, the reset as well as the LEDs for powering and using the SSD, there is no internal speaker in the case, no cable is attached to the plug for this. The different inputs / outputs of the motherboard are available at the top, to the left of the cooler. The case also offers USB connectors and sound on the front, above the Blu-ray reader-writer. The cables pass through the back of the box, not visible here, to maximize airflow. On both sides of the case are placed vertically two screens Philips Brilliance 288P6LJEB in 3840 * 2160 at 60 Hz 28 inches. The case is 220mm wide, 470 in width and 492 in length, in working order the computer weighs 12.3kg. With the Phoronix Test Suite v8.0.1 benchmark, under Ubuntu 18.04 kernel 4.15.0-32, we get 5173 TPS for the SSD. As for the RAM on integers we have 21.6 GB/s and 23.6GB/s for floating. Regarding the graphics we have 101s for a 4K rendering with 16 rays per pixel. For the Apache 2.4.29 benchmark there are 23634 queries per second. All components, excluded screens, were sold around € 1600, excluding deliveries costs, early 2018.
